Summary: Call for Applications – unique master programme on Higher Education, Research and Innovation Management with fully-funded scholarship opportunity.

Details: MARIHE – Master in Research and Innovation in Higher Education is a two-year Erasmus Mundus master programme supported by the European Union.

Participation in the MARIHE Programme is possible either:

  • with an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship of different categories (for holders from Erasmus+ Partner countries or Erasmus+ Programme countries; more information here)
  • OR as a non-scholarship holder (i.e. self-paying student).

The participation costs (“tuition fees”) for the whole study period of four semesters are:

  • For non-scholarship holders: 12 000 Euro
  • For Erasmus Mundus scholarship holders: either 9 000 Euro (for Programme country applicants) or 12 000 Euro (for Partner country applicants). Please note: For holders of an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, all participation costs are covered by the scholarship!

Objectives:

  • Objective 1: To educate change agents for systems and institutions of HE, innovation and research
    who analyse mechanisms of HE, innovation and research (the knowledge triangle), utilise their change management skills to modernize institutions and help them respond to new trends, such as digitalisation.
  • Objective 2: To improve the management of HE and research institutions by equipping graduates with managerial and decision making skills and the capability to develop new managerial and leadership concepts and instruments for institutions.
  • Objective 3: To promote internationalisation in HE, innovation and research by providing graduates with concepts of internationalisation as such, intercultural competence that actively promote internationalisation and development through cross-border activities.
  • Objective 4: To promote entrepreneurship and strengthen university-business relationships by developing graduates with an entrepreneurial mind-set and the ability to facilitate university-business-relationships.
  • Objective 5: To raise the quality of learning and teaching and make higher education more inclusive by preparing graduates with skills to support HEIs in modernizing their strategy and methods of teaching and learning and to use the possibilities of digitalisation in this respect and reach new groups through HE.

Application:

After you have entered all your personal data and uploaded your application documents in the MARIHE application database, i.e. have submitted your application, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt by e-mail (sent to the e-mail-address you entered into the application database). For technical reasons, this acknowledgement of receipt may take some time.

Your application is then checked for eligibility. You will receive a notice via e-mail:

  • either your application is declared eligible, or
  • your application will be rejected due to formal reasons, if you do not meet our admission requirements or if the application documents are incomplete or do not comply with the formal requirements.

Eligible applications will be reviewed ongoing and as soon as possible by members of the MARIHE Consortium, according to our assessment criteria. Based on this review, the MARIHE Admission Board will select applicants for participation and inform all candidates.

Successful candidates will be offered a study place and will be asked to submit further documents necessary for their admission. Please note that being selected does in no way guarantee admission to the programme, as for the admission process, the timely submission of further (paper) documents is needed. If documents are not submitted in time, or if the outcome of the admission process is that documents do not comply with admission requirements, the study place offer will be withdrawn.
