Harvard National Model United Nations 2022

Deadline: 31st August, 2021

Duration: 10th – 13th February, 2022

Summary: The Secretariat of HNMUN 2022 cordially invites you to join us for the 68th Annual Session of Harvard National Model Nations.

Details: HMUN is committed to serve the future leaders of the world. We are looking for student leaders who are ready to tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues and bring about informed action. Our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences, and interests. We welcome and encourage all students to apply for this educational experience.

Please note that due to the competitive nature of HMUN applications, acceptance to the conference is not guaranteed. We strongly discourage schools from making travel arrangements prior to receiving a confirmation of their acceptance and country assignment.

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible to apply for HMUN 2022, applicants must be 13 years of age or older and enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a high school during the period of January 27 to January 30, 2022. College students are not eligible to apply for HMUN 2022.

We understand that some high schools may culminate before the dates of the conference. You are eligible to apply to HMUN 2022 as long as you will not be matriculated in a college during the period of January 27 to January 30, 2022.

HMUN 2022 is open to students who are:

  • Of any nationality or citizenship

  • Of any gender, race, or ethnicity

  • At least 13 years old

  • Currently enrolled in high school or recent graduates of high school

  • Will not be matriculated in a college during the period of January 27 to January 30, 2022.

Once accepted, students must be accompanied by a faculty advisor. Teachers, university students, parents, administrators, and other adults 18 years of age or older are eligible to serve as faculty advisors. Any individual who is eligible to participate at HMUN as a delegate is ineligible to serve as a faculty advisor.

Application:

Students interested in applying to the conference may apply through a school or as an individual delegate.

As such, applicants may apply through three different channels:

  • Large Delegations: Schools with more than 9 students are considered large delegations. Students in large delegations may find themselves in all three committee types – the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council & Regional Bodies, and the Specialized Agencies. Please keep in mind that schools may receive no more than two General Assembly assignments. Additional students under a large delegation may also apply via the Specialized Application.

  • Small Delegations: Schools with 9 or fewer students are considered small delegations. Students in small delegations may find themselves in the Economic and Social Council & Regional Bodies, and the Specialized Agencies. Additional students under a small delegation may also apply via the Specialized Application.

  • Individual Delegates: Indiviudals not applying as a delegation through their school may also apply to HMUN through MUNBase. Note that applicants applying as individual delegates must also be accompanied by a faculty advisor.

Specialized Application: All delegates wishing to apply as part of the specialized agencies must submit a general application with their school on MUNBase and indicate their committee preferences in their application.
